Hi guys,

Has anyone had any experience with skins cycling clothing?

    Yup.

I really don't believe in the compression marketing c**p but they make good quality kit that lasts and lasts. Tend to use their base layers more than anything (they fit under race cut jerseys well).

Did you have any more specific questions? If so you're welcome to PM me.

It's the compression jersey they do I'm interested in it seems to have a straight band around the base?

In my opinion Skins and 2XU are way overpriced, all the ones I have owned the have peeled.

Under Armour is my choice, great quality, hard wearing and much cheaper if you shop around.

Also Aldi gear is decent and very cheap if you can find it, but I prefer to pay the extra for UA, but would never again buy 2XU or Skins.

You can get huge reductions on Skins and 2XU clothing if you look around. For instance imo the 2XU bib shorts I have are on a par with my ASSOS fi13 bib shorts in terms of comfort - I got the shorts for £50.

    Joe -

I recently got the compression jersey (in white) on sale at CRC so I can help.

PRO's - As I've said they are very well made and this is no exception, it's cut so that it fits in a tuck position with a slighly higher front and a thick latex band across the back of the jersey which is actually curved a bit as well. Nice details are that the logo's etc are all reflective so visability is good (why I got it in white as a training/commuting top).

CON's - Only one I can think of. The compression version of the jersey has minimal pocket space, essentially it has two stretchy net pockets in the middle of the back but they overlap and between them only hold about as much as you'd get in your normal centre pocket on a jersey. I suspect Skins are targetting the Tri market and they're thinking of these as gel pockets.

You can see the shape well on the photo here - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=51393&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_name=UnitedKingdom

and the Skins site has a 360 degree view so you can see the pockets - http://store.skins.net/uk/c400-mens-long-sleeve-compression-jersey?gclid=CLe96YHOnrMCFXHLtAodqREAOg

Would I buy it again? For £60 yeah, sure. For £100, no (I'd buy from Castelli instead).

EDIT - I should also add that it's really breathable as well but the flipside is that it's not warm. I've been wearing it and the similar base layer when it's around 10C and it's perfect. Below about 7C I would go for something warmer.

That's great info thanks for taking the time to post, I have found it for a similar price so will probably invest.

    Thank again
