I've broken 2 pits on neoprene overshoes now. I have a tendency to put my foot down before I'm fully stopped especially outside my house which is on a steep hill. As a result I've scuffed the toe and broken 2 pairs recently.

VERY ANNOYING   :!:

  • Is that all ? Did you scuff the soles of the shoes as well ?

Yeah, I do this too. Annoyingly they've been the items which I've had to replace the most. They aren't cheap either. My solution is to just repair them when they're slightly damaged.
Good thing I have someone on the hand to do it for me. :D

    Perhaps refrain from doing this.

Come to a complete stop and then foot down is not impossible, even on hills, thats what brakes are for. Unclip early and be ready - simples.

Get the Planet X overshoes. And yeah stopping before you put your foot down is the best option.
Brake Blocks are cheaper and designed for it.
