saw a thread in 'my bike' and got me thinking that i never see any on the roads, at least round my way, essex, what about around other peoples places? surprising imo as they look good and are readily available in the halfords, so freely available, and have a bit of pedigree to them loking at their history.

They're more expensive than brands like Sp and Trek. So it's only the fans who are able to afford it who go for it. I've only seen a fixie one so far.
  • and the modern ones look pretty naff...

    Fuck off!

I've seen a few, but not many. And mine.

I want to like them, the single speeds look good and so does the Stratos with its 3D paint scheme but its rather expensive. The affordable roadie range look very average.

edit: fallen in love with the Cinelli XCR Criterium, again, waaay expensive.

  • I love the Stratos.

I have an Experience in black. The other colours don't look great IMO.

I have only seen one, a cinelli experience in white on a club run. The guy riding it was given the nickname "the beast" due to his massive legs and punishing power output.

I bought the estrada from PX ....the frame was half price. Only 860g and I think it looks quite nice, plus as you all say.......I'm unlikely to see someone else on one.

I've seen exactly one on my rides so far, only once, I'm yet to see him again.

    Highly recommend then!!!

I really want a Strato now! Hopefully a medium 2012 frame will come up in the sales soon.
  • hows that 3d paint job work then!!!....

i think the experience and saetta look good especially in azzuri colours. if i had to buy a bike from halfords thru c2w or whatever i would get one of these over a boardman anyday, you might get a bit more spec on a boardman but imo the cinelli more than makes up for it in desirability and being a bit different.

just checked there website and seen 2013 colour schemes for the experience, love the green medley (sure most will find it a big odd, reminds me of the monster truck, gravedigger) and the red/white/blue looks good too. if i was looking for a bit different 1k bike i would seriously consider one.

I used to like them, a lad in my club had a orange and white one from about 2008 but they all look a bit naff now :(

Love that colourscheme, I may be getting an experience as a stop gap but my LBS has run out, it'd have to be 2013 colours :(
Funny that the best colour scheme is on the bottom of the range!

I got my local LBS to go direct to chickencycles to order the frame in, last time I checked the had quite a few of the blue/white like mine but none of the black

  • those 2013 colours are nice on the experience in a child let loose with crayons way. still prefer the azzuri one riggsy is building mind. hoped to be able to pick one up in the sales at a silly knockdown price, but never managed to see one at a price i could justify to myself when i already have a bike!

Mine was £1045 with Veloce. Even got a free bottle and cage!

I'll probably get a carbon seat post soon, it's a bit zingy.

looking at the 2013 frames I could be tempted with a Saeta black or race frameset.

  • There is a young lad (between 20 & 40) riding round my way with a Cinelli which looks very smart. He is a fast rider but was dressed head to toe in Livestrong! last time I saw him.

So sad that the innocent have to suffer for a simple mistake.

Got me a Saetta Sprint last week. 50% off at Wiggle so £1000 for full carbon with 105. First carbon bike and so much more comfortable than my Boardman Team. All gone now sorry.

I love the look of these bikes, but have never actually come across one before. It's odd that these aren't stocked in bike shops I've been to either, wonder why.
