needed - courier for cycles (not a cycle courier)
hello, not sure quite where to post, but i can't imagine a better group of experts than the road workshop subforum,
would anyone recommend a courier/delivery firm up to the job of safely transporting a very valuable road bike? wouldn't trust the likes of UPS after the last package i had from them was covered in footprints, so needs to be a specialist and suitably insured. uk mainland, midlands to yorkshire, with a very specific pickup time

Have a look at this company, when I came across them I thought they might be useful: -

They do Motorbikes and Push Bikes.0 -
Try Network Logistics in Brum. http://www.networklogistics.uk.net/
They are a dedicated delivery company (i.e. they will pick up at exactly the time you specify, the driver will strap the bike down securely so it doesn't move about in transit, and will take it straight to the destination) and they insure goods for up to £35,000.
Depending on where in Yorkshire the bike is going, expect to pay between £120 and £200 + VAT! However I deal with them quite often so if you tell them you were referred to them by 'Captain Buckles' they may give you a discount... can't promise though.CAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0 -
herbsman thanks! network logistics were spot on with arrangements and cost £190, which was within our budget.
