II have got a Mavic hub and an XT cassette to go on it.
I understand i need a spacer so i bought one (M10/HG Cassette Spacer) but the splines don't fit the splines on the hub.
Looking at the instruction there are 3pictures of hubs.
M10 - M10/HG9 - and ED10
I'm not sure what one i have, it is one of these two - M10 - M10/HG9
I have fitted the cassette without spacer but the running of the chain is atrocious.
What am i doing wrong???

You can see the pictures. We can't.
So all I can suggest is try turning it over.I don't do smileys.

But the splines for all Shimano freehubs are the same, AFAIK.I don't do smileys.

what spacer did you buy?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

A genuine Mavic M10/HG Cassette Spacer. Tried turning it over. It just doesn't fit. It is a 10 speed XT cassette.
These wheels have been a total pain in the arse from day one!0 -

Have you tried matching the wide tooth on the spacer to the wide gap on the freehub?
I just fitted a stnd 7 speed (cassette on an 8 speed hub) spacer on my Crossrides.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
