Hi all,
Not a swap by the way, im looking to buy a good secondhand bike for her.
I have seen a 2008 scott Contessa fx25
This is the spec but i cannot find any review or write up on this bike which is strange. Most search results seem to be foreign.
Frame: Contessa FX Alloy with Scott LCR 110mm remote control shock and integrated headtube
Forks: RockShox Tora 100mm with rebound adjust and lockout. Softer spring setup
Gears: Shimano Deore LX front and rear derailleurs
Shifters: Shimano Deore M530 rapid-fire plus 2
Crankset: Shimano M442 44x32x22
Brakes: Shimano Deore hydraulic disc
Wheels: Alex TD-24 32H built on Shimano M495 rear and Scott comp front hubs
Tyres: Scott OZON 26x2.0
Handlebars: Scott comp Contessa
Stem: Scott comp
Saddle: Contessa VL O-Zone
Seatpost: Scott comp 31.6mm
Pedals/Extras: Shimano M505 clipless pedals
Frame size 16 inches c-c, 18 inches c-t
New chain, cassette and chain rings (middleburns)
Seems a lot of bike for £200, just looking for any advice. I have a scott genius 30 so i am familiar with the suspension and repair costs should it be faulty but i will check it over if i go to view it.
Thanks
Will

Nice solid spec, at £200 if it's in good condition it's a good buy, although an 18" frame is quite big, how tall is your wife?
You don't need a 'womens' bike' as most mens will do with the right components to suite, but the Contessa's do look 'pretty'.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
she is approx 5'8 so maybe i need to check sizing.0

Sizing of course really depends on top tube length, so it may be a good fit, it's just I'd guess an 18" would class as a large.
Shorter stem, backswept bars, move saddle forward may all make the size OK, at that price, and if you can DIY it would be worth buying and reframing if the components are all good!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
