Convert Hybrid to CX/Winter hack

Hi
As the dark wet mornings roll in I am reluctant to use my sunday best....
so, I have been thinking of trying to convert my 2010 Boardman Hybrid team into either a decent CX bike/winter hack
The only sticking point is the brakes. They are avid juicy hydraulics, anyone have any ideas of how I could get drops on it?

Take them and the bars off, and fit normal or STI brake levers and BB7 Road disc calipers to go with the drop bars.
You will also want to fit a shorter stem to avoid being over stretched when on the lever hoods.0 -
any recommendations on the levers?
