49 years old and i hardley slept with the anticipation of todays effort, like at kid on xmas eve as mrs says
any ways the plan was to do my first 30 and i decided to do a hard route rather than easier one.
i wanted to get to the ponderossa cafe on the horse shoe pass by llangollan as a half way point.got to llangollan ok then started the ascent which is tad under 5miles to the ponda which is about 1400 ft give or take.
I soon began thinking id made a mistake as it got steeper and steeper and i was begining to struggle with the effort.
not ashamed to say i was down to 5mph on some of the climb and wanted to stop, but i kept going and made it to the top with no stops, which i must say was a superb feeling.
Any way trip down was easier cruising in the 30,s for about 4m back towards llangollan and the hills coming back were nothing after the climb to the ponda,so totally knackered but totally over joyed with the ride.
30.5 mile at 14mph average which im happy with for that journey.
