What to do?

Hi all,
Have got an old 2006 Commencal Meta frame that I've refurbished and built up. It came with a Rockshox Ario shock which I believe is original. The lockout and rebound don't seem to work on it. Should I service it (even though I can't find a service kit for one that old) or just bin it and get a 2nd hand something else (I'm also skint so can't afford brand new shock!)
Would I just be polishing a turd or is it worth trying to fix? My first FS bike so don't know too much about it all.
Any help would be great. Cheers.
