Replacing bottom bracket shell

Has anyone had to replace a BB shell on an aluminum frame?

Mine is stuffed. Cracked 1/2 way round and opened up 5mm.

The only fix I can see id cut off the old shell and weld on a new shell. The treads when need to cut after welding.

    talk to Argos racing.

    might not be worth doing as frames can be quite cheap.
