Inrng mentioned he knows of another team that are looking at abandoning their sponsorship of cycling.

A big name.

Any guesses?

I don't imagine Radioshack will be hanging around much longer.
At the heart of the recent scandals, company in financial trouble, the executive who set up the deal has left.

When Liquigas went I imagine Cannondale had a very long hard look, but apparently they re in now.

I'm surprised Radioshack are still in as apparently the company is falling apart (regardless of the cycling)
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

How are the Spanish sponsors doing? There is a country under a lot of financial pressure.

With the current boom in GB cycling, could we see another UK based firm step up to sponsor a pro tour team? Maybe firms that got involved in the Olympics (eg Lloyds TSB) that are looking for some longer term legacy.

In the current economic situation, as well as the recent USADA thing suggesting endemic corruption, unlikely.

My money would be on a Western European team - Lampre.
  • Yes, I feel Lampre could be the one. Some of their riders are already carrying a bit of 'winter timber'.

Inrng just said another big sponsor leaving cycling. Not necessarily a team. Could be Skoda

Wasn't that on the basis of Cav being in the Team? Not going to happen now...
  • Could be Skoda

That was being discussed in the Inrng comments.

They announced that ages ago. Cannondale are going to be the main sponsors now.
