Nothing fancy, but as they say; it "got me into cycling". :)

Trek 1000 2007 WSD 50cm. I am fully aware the saddle dosn't match, but being on a budget i can't be fussy about colour!
Apologies for the dismal backround of my garage and the fact it's not particuarly clean! Also need to get mudguards, any recomendations?

Better cross this out:

Another unmatching object, my pedals. You might be able to see the scratches on the crank arms; a result of me trying to get the other ones off. Will have shoes to go with them by next week so i think i'll just ask the shop to take them off for peace of mind.

Saddle's a ripped but since i paid less than £10 i'm going to try a bit of superglue on it.

Mostly Sora set up, although old owner upgraded a few things i can't remember off the top of my head.
Tyres are GP 4000s.

Next upgrade may be some "new" brakes off fleabay, as currently they aren't even Sora spec.
I think the obvious weakness is the wheels as they're only Alex rims. However, it'll definitely be some time before i upgrade them.

So there you have it, my 1st bike.

  • nice first bike.

as for mudguards I'd recommend Cruds Roadracer mk2 http://www.crudproducts.com/products/roadracer/

You might want to look at the Brake leaver/handlebar position, seems quite low, you might get more comfort from changing it, but if it's comfy for you then don't worry about it

What the hell have you done with the stem/handlebar/brake lever combination? Looks awfully weird...

Anyway it looks like a half decent bike! Glad it's got you into cycling! You'll never get out of it now

    Road - Dolan Preffisio
    MTB - On-One Inbred

I have no idea what's going on here.

Does it? Tbh that's how it came, found it pretty comfortable, so left it alone.

Looking at it now i suppose the levers are a bit low and the stem is a bit upright, is that what you guys mean?

Your bars are just tilted forward quite far, may be more comfortable in a more upright position

Its like the bars are tilted forward to compensate for the high stem... Perhaps less rise on the stem and the bars could be level and the hoods in the right place without feeling much different overall?

Cool though :) Enjoy all your rides!

Being comfortable is half the battle, if it works then leave it as it is! Looks great apart from through seven times tdf winner.I'd replace it with the chemical symbol for EPO :-)

Everything is comfortable until you've been pushing yourself for 2 hours; I don't know when something is wrong until I'm an hour into a ride.

Regardless; ride it and if you feel uncomfortable or feel any pain after an hour or so, look at getting some stuff adjusted. The seat is easiest to do and takes a few seconds, but the bar is extremely important and the combination of seat and bar will yield you some hand pain or back pain if not properly setup.

    Hope it fits though :)
