Cabling for CX bikes

Hi
I have purchased a CX bike. The cabling for the rear mech, front mech and rear brake is along the top of the top tube.
I was wondering which channel should be used for which component?
Assuming I am standing over the bike, what would the left, middle and right channels link to? Also, should any of them be covered with outer-cable?
For reference, I will predominately be using the bike for commuting on roads.
Thanks
Mark

Hi,
Usually its:
left= front mech
centre=rear brake
right= rear mech
Hope that helps. No doubt someone will have a different opinion, but I've found that way keeps things neat with no crossovers

No outer cable for the sections that run along the top tube. Use the little rubber donuts (about 3 per cable) to stop the cable rubbing on the paintwork. As per the previous post for cable order.1998 Kona Cindercone in singlespeed commute spec

Depends on the cable-routing and style of brakes, on one of mine with mini vees it's:
Right = rear mech
Centre = front mech
Left = rear brake
On my other bike with cantis, I run the brake down the middleMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
