I have the chance of buying some raceface bars but they are the diablous DH ones

will these do me even though i don't do specific dh riding,

I ride xc, trail centres and some descents but nothing i would claim to be all out dh.

they are a bargain and 710 wide which will be alot wider than the easton 70bars im using right now...

will sell on the eastons if the raceface ones are useable...

thanks

they will be fine, the DH/FR part has more to do with the width than anything else, what was used on DH/FR bikes before is fairly standard on xc/am bikes now

DH bars will be heavier than an eqivalent bar designed for lighter use, the Diab's come out around 380g from memory while at about 700mm XC bars of reasonable quality will be around 230-250g, if you're not a weightweenie then don't worry about it, if you are that is a disaster!

examples???? ea70 are 265g at 685mm, which i gather he is using at the mo.

Lots available at around the 200g mark at 640 wide, most the wider XC ones are Carbon (so sub 200g) but if I could be bothered to search for long enough I could probably find some ally at that weight.

Merlin are still doing the Alu Haven's at £36. 711mm & 270g (about the same weight as the EA70's but wider)

thats not bad, only thing is the op didn't tell us how much he can get them for, or what rise he's gone for, or if he's bothered about weight or not ?

if im honest i dont buy by weight, just if i like something and the prices is right,
yeh its for my 9.1 chez.....will that be a worry??i run a 50 or 60 mm spesh stem.
the seller says they are low rise but they look similar to the easton 70's im using, mid rise.
15quid they are going for brand new so i thought i cant go wrong @ that price.....

na not really mate but i have the superstar xl grips and with the shifters and brakes theyre nearly at the bend in my bars

suppose another 20mm wont make to much difference.....

just seen them and thought "oh they look nice and cheap"

kinda need thick grips for my hands, have reynauds and get the white finger sh** alot when doing the descents so thought the chunkier the grip the better for my fingers but i probably am wrong

if yours are mid rise that will be a 30mm rise, low are 20mm, my canyon came with ea50 685mm low rise bars, were not quite right for me, so changed for a mid rise easton vice 711mm bar, the extra mm's jus feel better to me on that bike

if you got them and don't like them, you could always put them on ebay and get your money back

Personally I'd keep them and try the grips first....
