SID or Recons

Hi
I'm looking to upgrade forks on my Giant revel 1 from the woeful 80mm xct v4's to something more suited to trails (red only I suspect).
I've got an option on a set of RS SID Team (2010 I think) 100mm dual air. Or I could go for recon silver solo airs for similar price (I can get the SIDs really cheap).
I know the SIDs are a better fork, but is there any disadvantage to having them over the Recons for trail riding as I understand the SIDs are designed mainly for XC?

I'd have the SIDs every time between those two. The old ones were flexy race forks, these days they're much tougher.0

I have SID's on my hardtail, I mainly ride natural stuff, rather than trail centres but in the Cheviots it can get pretty rocky etc. I've had no problems and absolutely love the smoothness of them. Haven't noticed any flex from them either! Haven't tried recons but the SID's are smooth and a no brainer in my opinion! Especially if around the same price. Mine are the 2012 RLT version.0
