cube attention 2012 £500 v khs alite 2000 £500 v cube ltd 2012 £660 (bear in mind the latter would see me living as a pauper and beer free next month).
I am used to riding a +10yr old sub £300 saracen - time for upgrade due to renewed passion and entering an amateur race next year, currently doing x2 40km rides a week.
questions i have
1. would i really notice the difference between the coil and air forks on the two cubes, and is the air fork on the cube ltd worth the extra £160.
2. khs gets amazing mag reviews, but i cannot find any rider reviews, is it good? and with it having an air fork is it comparable to the cube ltd?
3. anyone have any other suggestions within max budget of £700, (26" only)
Cheers, Marv Brown

I brought a KHS alite 2000 just over a month a go for the bargain price off £500. After speaking to the guys at KHS about sizing etc they told me to go for the medium 17"(I'm 5'10.5"). It's worth pointing out that the whole staff at KHS more awesome! They even fully build the bike for you at no extra cost! winner. It really is an excellent bike and the air fork, although it's a RST offering is really plush and smoove with decent adjustability. I've rode many a bike, but to find one with these specs and such a great ride would cost you around £800. Its super light for the money too. At the price I'd definately give it 5/5. I'm in love!
Hope this helps

hi
well i would say if your wanting to buy new the khs is a good choice or the voodoo from halfords

if you want to max you budget out at £650 you could get the Boardman Mountain Bike Comp

i was in the same boat as you only 3 weeks ago and i had the khs on my short list, but in the end i found a mega bargain on ebay viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=12883694
if your not in a hurry to buy why dont you look on ebay ? you would probley get a better bike for your money.
just remember to ask questions like, how old is it, have they owned it from new, do they have any paperwork for it, and if you find something you realy like ask the seller if they have a cash price in mind for a quick sale out side of ebay. this will save them the 10% final sellers fee and could bag you a bargain

went for the cube ltd in the end, at £600 i couldnt resist. ordered on weds night and it arrived fri morning. have to say great service from winstanleys.
the bike stayed in the lounge with me on the 1st night, just so i could look at it all night (sad i know, and a raised eyebrow or two from the mrs...) only been on a local trail so far but it rides like a dream. cant wait to get to gisburn next weekend.
cant upload pics to bike radar for some reason but if you want to see i have put some on twitter.
