9 speed crankset with 10 speed drivetrain?

Sorry if this is obvious. I've searched the forum and checked the faq's to no avail.

Will an m665 shimano slx crankset (double and bash) be compatible with a ten speed drivetrain (xt cassette, kmc chain, slx mechs and slx rapidfire shifters). I would be moving from 3x10.

Any help gratefully received.

Lots of people are running 10 rear with a 9 front, it may not be 'optimal' but work just fine.

Works perfectly, I've gone 2x10 with the same (ish) set up.
