"Obviously Contador had his troubles," Roche conceded, "and he paid the price for what he did. And obviously there is probably going to be some more stories in the future . . . what I'm saying is that this big one, this big chapter, is now closed. People have the answers to the questions they were asking and now let's move on to 2013 and hopefully continue the anti-doping fight that's in place now with the UCI."
At least Roche takes a view of Contador that he did something wrong, ie doped.0 -

This has been posted elsewhere - it's the TV interview with Nico Roche that Kimmage refers to:
http://www.rte.ie/player/gb/show/10064478/
The story starts at 22:25. Roche appears at 26:00
Roche comes across as a fool - like many right now - he's spitting out the same fire-damping PR guff... saying that "this big chapter [doping at USPS] is now closed - people have the answers to the questions they were asking".
No it isn't and no they don't.
As a young(ish) pro, when it comes to getting to the bottom of this morass and championing the relentless removal of wrong-uns, why would he not show the same dogged determination he shows on the bike? Who or what is he protecting?
There's no point lancing the boil (and boiling the Lance) if you don't go in after with the antiseptic... it'll just come back.0 -
