At Last!

26 years I have been riding bikes, starting with a road bike at 13 then onto MTB's, then back to road bikes over the last 10 or so years. Never fallen off, not once, until yesterday. Now I know what road rash feels like. It feels somewhat of a relief to have finally crashed, as it has taken so long to happen.
Has anyone here not fallen off? Longer time gaps?

I've never had road rash. I fell off once in my 20s going round a greasy mini-roundabout, my rucksack took all the scraping. Then a few weeks ago (after not riding for 25 years) I came to a stop, second time out on a loaned hybrid, got my foot stuck in a toeclip and fell over sideways at 0 mph  .

Now I have a nice road bike and getting into it... and I'm pretty scared of falling off at speed, tbh. Hope you're ok...
    Is the gorilla tired yet?

Thanks very much, all ok apart from being able to sleep on my right side thanks to the damage, but all is good. Helmet has a dent too, but I won't start that old chestnut up apart from that I am glad it was between me and the tarmac :D

It gives you an excuse to buy a shiny new helmet too :D

Plenty of spills as a child, I'm half a tooth missing as a result of one of them, but since my comeback I haven't had any crashes at all.

In fact the only thing I've fallen off lately was a scooter (stop laughing at the back there!). Set off down hill, realised I was picking up rather a lot of speed and didn't brake hard enough before abandoning ship, resulting in an undignified cartwheel/roll into a muddy ditch

not had the pleasure of a road crash rash yet but hit a couple of trees downhill MTB larking and broken a toe in the process ;) Quite painful it was, and very little sympathy forthcoming. No spectacular blood or bruising.
