Small Bike for small man Please

Hi all,
I am a 5 foot tall male & i am increasingly frustrated by the lack of road bikes for someone my size. After an awful lot of searching i have managed to get myself a FELT F95 road bike with 650c wheels but i had to opt for a junior version. Bit embarrassing as i am 46 yrs old. The bike is pretty good for now but i will be wanting to upgrade to something more in the £1500 area within the next 12 months
I can not possibly be the only person who has had this trouble. I would rather not have to go down the ladies bike route but if that is my only option is there any difference for a ladies road bike other than the size?
Any help would be great & if you could point me to sympathetic manufacturers that would be great

The Focus Cayo Evo 6.0 comes in an extra small (48cm). That is the one that springs to my mind, having seen one recently and thinking how small it looked.

My wife looked at a few womens specific bikes, the main difference as far as I could see was a shorter top tube. Generally women have longer legs and shorter bodies so the bikes are built to accommodate that.Ridley Orion0 -
You might look at a custom job in that sort of price range - e.g. Justin Burls does very reasonably priced steel and Ti frames, and is a 'very strong advocate' of 650c for smaller bikes:

Pinarello do 44cm frames. This measurement is centre-to-centre though (BB to centre of top tube). In the majority of bike terms this works out about 46-47cm frame.
I'm 5ft-3 and bought a Pinarello FP2 44cm from Wiggle last year which had a 40% discount around Sept/Oct (£2000 reduced to £1200- ish). Might be worth keeping an eye on Wiggle site0 -
Also look at Giant in XXS size frame, it's 43cm iirc0

my missus is 5'2" and rides a 46 cm ribble stealth or r872 as it's now called and it's a great fit on her, quite racy as the front is fairly low on the stealth, but she says very comfortable.

I really need a 43cm frame with 650c wheels which are proving very hard to get.
Thanks for your response though0
