brompton - great customer service

I always knew that Brompton had a good reputation for customer service - but didn't realise just how good until recently. The folding pedal of my bike snapped off a few weeks ago - I was going up hill and fell quite heavily on the bars. I replaced the pedal but noticed the steering was messed up so got the dealer to send it back to Brompton. First response from them was that the bike was a write off!!! so I explained that the crash was due to pedal failure and after a few emails they agreed to repair the bike free of charge. I picked it up a couple of days later and hardly recognised it - brand new frame, fork, stem, cranks, pretty much a whole new bike! - they even replaced all the brake cables/pads and cleaned the wheels. Not sure many other companies would have done the same.
