    Thanks for replying, could get the Race from my LBS but to be honest id rather save 95 quid and get the SL if its the better bike.

    The major difference is the SL has XT brakes. Fantastically powerful brakes with bags of modulation
    Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Epsilon.

    Are the brakes the only big difference? Leaning towards the Race as i can purchase from my LBS and have 2 free services included. Heard the MT2 are good brakes, do they compare to the XTs?

    Shifters and front mech look to be steps up too but the brakes are the main difference. Wheels are different. Are the XTs on the Race better?

    You should be able to get great deals on the 2012 Cubes at this time of year too. I got my 2011 Race at this time last year for £800
