I have been looking around for a bag to stick all my muddy post ride gear in I found these

http://www.duffbag.com/products/duffbag/duffbag/

The price looks good as they are on special at the moment, has anyone used these?

Or am I better off sticking with rubble sacks?

Any opinions?

I was going to say what's wrong with a bin bag, but tbh that bag actually looks a good option. The built in may did it for me!

looks like a neat bit of kit. There's always cheaper ways to do these things - I just use carrier bags - but if you can afford it then why not?

Aldi do something similar, got one when I was kitesurfing, ideal for wetsuits... just as good for wet & muddy kit biking
A berm? were you expecting one?

Had one for about 3 or 4 years now, great for when or out with the car, just throw all your gear in and go, really well made

  • Tesco do a car boot bag thingy that unzips fully to use as a boot liner too. Think it cost me £3 and it's never let me down in 2 years. Big enough to fit everything in and strong enough to carry heavy stuff!

Cheers for your replies to those that already have a duffbag can you fit in the following: shoes (510's) Camelbak Mule, shorts, shirt, base layer, standard helmet and 661 knee pads?

I still don't see why it's better than a bin bag (which I use...), no need to clean any mud out after either as they're obviously disposable.

Best option is to own a car you dont mind getting a bit muddy. Even if you have a new car at the end of the day mud is just mud so once dry it generally hoovers out right? But failing that a bin bag/carrier bag works just as well.

In answer to the above, Yes, it Will fit all that and more in. I've had one for a couple of years and use it after every ride. Fits in just about everything you need for a weekend. You could do bin bags, but this won't disintegrate and leave crap all over the car.

They look good and well made, but I like the builders bucket best, esp as you can stand in it. I have done used this option as it doubles as a bike kit laundery basket when neding to hang it all out to dry..

That said, I have a van with lino in the loadspace, so I generally just lob it all in and sweep it out every few weeks :-)

I use the free drawstring bag that came with my MBUK mag even it even has 'Wiggle' on it so I have someone to blame if it doesn't work!

Ordered a 'damaged' one, it arrived this morning with a little tear in the plastic wrapper it was packaged in, the bag itself is perfect! :)
  • Likewise it would seem (haven't inspected closely). Nice one again, bloghog!
  • I also went for a damaged one. Bar the tear in the wrapper its tip top. Even said to the misses "why didn't they just put it in another bag , no one would know/care".
Bonus for us though, and thanks for the heads up!
  • No problem guys, glad it was of help

Whilst you're at it, you should all buy a bag to keep your bag for dirty riding clothes in when you're not using it. And maybe a holder for that bag.

    You can't be too careful.
