hi,
i've just bought a bike with hayes 9 disc brakes and notice that the pads are just touching the discs. how do i increase the gap between them?

either use them or push the pistons home and reset by pulling the levers a few times.

Too far off and the lever travel gets too long!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Are both pads touching the rotor or just one side? I had some Hayes 9s and loved them but at times had to re-align the caliper. Just loosen the bolts till the caliper moves, pull the brake on hard and re-tighten bolts whilst still pulling the lever....simples0
