I am looking to replace the crap suspension forks on my 12 year olds bike with some rigid ones.

Any other suggestions.

id look at carbon legged forks. for cool as a cucumber looks obviously. and the apparent slight vibration absorbing/damping

Depends on how much you have to spend. On One do some lovely Carbon rigids

I have used these and they are really good.

I bought a pair to do exactly what you are thinking.
They are quite awesome forks tbh, especially for the price.
My youngest (13) found them to be a lot easier to ride with on and off road.

She has now progressed up to a decent front suss bike so they are not doing anything, but i'd reccomend them no problem.

Look at 'exotic' forks - alu, carbon lots of choice & decent quality / value.
