Whats your opinions guys? I ordered my new Giant TCR Composite 2 from them and it arrived within a couple of days. However Im not entirely satisfied with the way its been set up.
Firstly the Sram Apex gears were all over the place, I had a fiddle and improved it slightly but its not perfect as Im no expert. Gears still changing on their own and jumping about a bit.
Both wheels seem like theyre not true, only slightly but its annoying the hell out of me.
And last but not least it seems like there is something rolling around inside the rim!! Very odd!!
Im gonna have to email them and express my disatisfaction but am i just gonna sound like Im winging, Suppose its the problem not using your LBS but the deal was not one to be missed.
Ultimately its gonna end up at the LBS as they are Giant dealers.

Return it, it is in your rights... return it and buy the same from your LBS asking for a bit of discount.
My advice for the non mechanically gifted is to buy from a reputable shop... one that offers superb serviceleft the forum March 20230 -
Here we go again!
I blame Wiggle.

Wiggle are excellent - 99% of the time - it just that some seem obcesed at moaning about the 1% failureshttp://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=3370a&r=3&c=5&u=M&g=p&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png

Don't get me wrong, I'm not starting a witch hunt and I probably should of thought about the thread title a bit more. I just had my first ride on the new bike and these niggles kinda took the edge off the ride. I'm sure there's nothing that can't be sorted but you expect everything to be perfect don't you? You expect to be able to take it out of the box and ride it!
Anyways anyone know how to set up the SRAMs
Could the thing in the rear be something in the tube?0 -
Why not contact wiggle if you have a problem with their serivce?
Threads like these DO NOTHING for the poster but provide a place to rant. Then every other muppet who didn't get haribo chimes in with their woes.
If your issues are so severe, your time and efforts would be more constructively used by crafting an email to wiggle.0 -

I did get haribostell you what ill just delete the thread if I can. I am emailing Wiggle as I said earlier, just wanted to find out if I was just a bit unlucky or if it was standard to ship a bike out that wasn't completely set up.

Yat again someone mistook this forum for the Outlet that supplied them, and thought they would get a satisfactory out come by coming in here and ranting rather than just getting in touch wth the supplier for the apparopiate recourse.0

FFS sometimes you wish you'd never opened your mouth! Can the moderators please delete this before I report some people for being self righteous p**cks. C'mon guys I was asking a genuine question, I'm fairly new to this forum and I ain't getting a cosy feeling!
I don't mind a bit of banter but if you ain't got anything positive to say then please don't comment.

I got a new bike from them a couple of weeks ago and it was set up perfectly.
I still had my local bike mechanic give it the once over though when they fitted some guards on it though, as better to have a second opinion always as you may miss something that another person spots
as for wiggle, they are 10/10 in my book, but they do call me Mr Platz due to my hefty discounts0 -

Now that makes me feel better...a sensible comment. Thanks Jay197. I think I just been a bit unlucky! Still love my new bike just wish I'd not had the issues.
Alas they can be resolved. Just a shame the LBS can't match the Wiggle discounts as I would have bought from them as I did with my Allez. Fortunately I am quite familiar with the LBS and told them I would buy online and they were fully understanding as they couldn't match the deal. Will pop in have a chat about my issues, just don't think I should be paying to resolve them, but hey that's the problem with buying online I guess0 -
I have had a bad experience with Wiggle, I will never buy a Bike online again, It arrived with a damaged frame....the advice they gave me was to go out and buy some paint and repair it myself. Not bad for a £600 bike

It never occurred to me that in buying a bike from Wiggle, that there is an expectation that it comes 'ready to ride'.
I always assumed you had to build up and check it out first, so thats my lesson for the day.0 -
My god folks, give the guy a break. He just wanted people's opinion on their dealings with wiggle and wether he should complain or to what extent he should rant to them. No big deal. It's as easy to give the guy some general advice as it is to have a go at him for asking a simple question.
In my opinion wiggle have always been top notch but I usually get haribo,s. I find them quick to deliver, competitive and have a good stock. I also still use my lbs a lot to though but they don't have enough stock or variety sometimes. If you think the wheels aren't true then put your brake blocks really close to the rim and see if you can see any imperfections in their trueness. Regarding the rattle then take the tyre off and see if there is omething rattling about, it may even be the little washer on the outside of the valve. Regarding your SRAM, they should be set up correctly when you buy the bike. Remember though that in the first few rides they will need adjusting anyway as they bed in.
At the end of the day if your not happy with it your within your rights to send it back to getting resolved. Good luck and I hope you getting resolved soon.0 -
I think Wiggle provide a good service, everyone slips up occasionally. If somethings not right, then just contact them.
I order a seatpost once. It said 3-5 days delivery, I emailed them on the 5th day asking whether they knew when it might arrive. I was given no ETA as they were still "awaiting stock".
I needed to seatpost asap and so I asked them to cancel the order - so they did. I was given a full refund, plus a £10 discount voucher.
Following week, ordered some nutrition (in bulk). I ordered different flavored energy gels in boxes of 18. They messed up on one of the flavors. I sent an email. Got a response saying I could keep the incorrect flavor and that the correct flavor was on its way. All in all, saved £10 and got a box of free energy gels which tasted great.0 -
If you aren't happy with the bike, justifiably by the sound of things, then let Wiggle know so they can either accept it back, or make it right.
I'm not sure why, but for some reason you aren't allowed to post about Wiggle on here, unless it is a glowing review. Personally I've always had good service from Wiggle and I do use them a fair bit for clothing and bits and bobs. But I am using my LBS more and more these day, especially as they seem keen to bridge some of the gap on price, and they offer me something I can't get online, it's called personal service.Ridley Orion0 -
I had a bike from Wiggle nearly 2 years ago now, was good service and set up fine.
Only problem I have had with them is that they were using a carrier that I had a 40 mile round trip to collect goods if I wasn't in when delivered. Also problem with returns.
Was going to stop using them but the delivery is now more local and returns has been sorted out with the system they now use which is very good.
Generally had good service from Wiggle, tell them about the faults with your bike and I'm sure they will sort it in no time? Other good suppliers about too so they know they have to keep up the high standards or people will just use other suppliers. Got close to it with the postage problem but have been pleased since that was sorted.
Good luck with your new bike, hope its resolved very soon.0 -

If however you think that people pointing out your obvious mistake, is being self righteous then go ahead and report.
It makes no difference what level of service other users have experienced from a supplier, it wont get your problem solved asking about it here, thats the point0 -
wiggle sent wrong item so i returned and asked for correct one,
they emailed me saying they did not have it and had returned MY money to paypal ( A LIE)
so i ordered from someone else,
wiggle will not return emails, or phone me.
wiggle will not return my money.
Paypal are now involved.
Incidently has anyone tried to write a review on wiggle, well you are only allowed to write a good one.
they refuse any negative comment0 -
I have had issues with Wiggle too. Ordered an item that wasn't in stock - it wasn't noted on the website nor the email notification. It took weeks to get it from abroad to the UK. Not a word until I complained.Ride Safe! Keep Safe!

Probably ordered 30 odd times from them and the only issue I have had was a crushed helmet, not their fault, probably the delivery company chucking it around.
It seems that we are quick to criticise for poor service but will rarely offer praise for good service and when we do its met with distrust.Life isnt like a box of chocolates, its like a bag of pic n mix.0 -
Bought my bike from Wiggle (and there own branded Verenti). Had a couple of issues when it arrived but I contacted Wiggle and they dealt with them quickly and efficiently. I have also read on their review sections of others that had issues with new bikes and Wiggle paid for an LBS to resolve the problems, so worth just contacting them with your issues and letting them resolve them. I've spent a lot with Wiggle this year as It has taken me a while to find a good LBS around my area (newbie this year), and I've had nothing but good service from them (and Haribos).0

It's may be some metal shavings from where the wheel is drilled for the valve. I had it on my bike for years and one day it pokes out when changing the tyre and hey presto - gone, no more noise though I could not hear it when riding. If you can hear when riding it's not this!!
Regarding gears I had to take a bike back around three times for gears jumping out before I got it sorted. Obviously you can't do that if buying on line so you do need to know someone or how to fix minor niggles yourself.0 -
unless i've missed something, all those problems seem like they could have been caused by it being chucked about in transit and instead of going back to wiggle to see what they say, and i'm pretty sure they would have exchanged it for you, your first port of call was to post it on here?!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

Dude, they PDI in house and then ship the bike in a cardboard box, so of course it's going to get knocked around a bit (thus your indexing and possibly the wheels). If you're unhappy then send it back.
I've ordered from them many times and the only issue I had was with a broken battery pack which they promptly replaces.
At least the bike was actually put together, unlike Halfords where you'd have to take it to a different shop to be sure it didn't collapse on the first ride. As others have said if you don't trust it then buy local.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0 -
£5000 k spent with them this year - excellent delivery service, and tracking - and an unbelievably fair returns service when sized items dont fit. like any mail order company there will be quibbles, and in-transit issues, but to be fair to Wiggle, its how they address these that is the sign of a good servicehttp://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=3370a&r=3&c=5&u=M&g=p&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png

I ordered some stuff from Wiggle last Sunday, emailed on Monday to say it would arrive Tuesday between 06:30 and 19:30, stayed in and missed a local bonfire with the kids and the parcel never arrived, UK Mail were the courier and it took til gone 18:00 on Wednesday for the parcel to get delivered, Wiggle apologized for the delay but I may well pay the extra few pence and shop elsewhere in future as Evans, CRC, Merlin and many others have let me down with a crap delivery company before.
ACCarrera Fury for the muddy stuff
Boardman Road Team for the black stuff
PDQ for the TT stuff0 -
If your not competent at bike maintenance, ALWAYS take a bike ordered on line to your lbs to at least get it checked out before you ride it, you never know what may have been knocked/come loose during delivery.
Also if you have an issue I'd contact the supplier and see how they react then post on the forum with your good/bad experiences of the whole customer service.0 -
Got nothing but good things to say about Wiggle.
Huge stock and choice that no LBS within 50 miles has.
