Hello!
I have a 2010 specialized Hardrock, its a great bike but the forks bounce too much when I ride on the road, so I think I will buy a new one.
As im abit poo at this Im not sure what I am looking for, and what is good etc. I live in bristol and I want to start riding at ashton court as well as riding on the road alot, as i am hoping to replace my car with a bike, once I am fit enough, long story short because i am not rich are these forks good for me?
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/roc ... ork-ec0435 19
also could someone explain if coil is better than air? and also is more travle better than less?
Thanks in advance! chris

Your link doesn't work, but you hardrock will be 100mm/120mm travel so it is not warrantied for more. I'd look at a Rockshox Recon or Reba depending on your budget.
I prefer air as I can set the sag to my weight, but it's really just user preference. I also like the way it feels more plush and better with small bumps.
Travel is totally dependant on the riding/terrain and also on whether it will fit the frame without messing up the geometry.0 -
It currently has SR Suntour SF10-XCT -V2D-MLO forks on it,
and here is a link that should work! http://www.evanscycles.com/products/roc ... k-ec0435180 -
They have an adjuster on them but it doesnt do anything0

The link is to XC32's...
They'd be a huge improvement over the (XCM's?) Suntours on your Hardrock, but you'll get more for your money elsewhere, for that look for a Recon at least.
For not much more...

XCT's are pants frankly, no damper, like driving a car with the shock absorbers removed!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
