Best places for a full English in the city?

I'll start with the Duck Egg in Brixton.

Anyone been to the Regency Cafe from layer cake?

Not in London, but I've just had two hash browns, one piece of bacon, one sausage and half a black pudding from the BBC canteen in Salford for £2.50 :-)

  • Regency is fine but not my fav. The most notable thing about it is the charming lady at the counter whose voice takes on the properties of a foghorn when calling orders. Always makes newbies jump that one! Bit pricey too. I like the Sutton Cafe near Morden or the Double Six in Eversholt St.

Can't have my usual friday fry up today as I have to leave early to get my stitches out. It's a bit problematic at the moment anyway as I struggle to cut my own food. I had an omelette last week as I could eat it with a fork. Would DDD think me less of a man?

The Larder on Grey's Inn Road.

An example of their work in the medium of sandwich:

By the looks of it there is a lack of tomato ketchup. Fail.

A smidgen of brown. I like the sauce to compliment, not overpower.

HP - and I'm with Asprilla; only a smidge so that you don't lose the taste of the bacon and sausage.

    Maybe it's a Northern thing!!

Not tried Daddy's in a while. Tad fruitier than HP, as I remember?

HP, and not too much. That's the problem with cheaper browns, you need more to get the flavour and it's not as good.

  • The Guiness HP is for winners - fire that over your scrambled eggs and bacon and you will never look back!
