Could you not buy something for yourself and make her use your old bike?
Then, after a month you will have 2 bikes

standard answer is this http://www.decathlon.co.uk/81-2012-id_8168918.html a lot better spec than the white and £150 cheaper

As I have warned other fellow riders about buying for the otherhalf, make sure you get the right colour, it is more important than the component spec/how it rides!

Have a look at the Boardman Comp HT, much better spec, light and they do a women's version as well.
