Adjust disc brakes after removing the wheel

I was hoping someone could help me with this. I sometimes have to remove the front wheel and occasionally the back. My previous bike had disc brakes with quick release skewers but my current bike has fixed bolts. Would anyone be able to tell me if I'm doing something wrong because I usually have to adjust the disc brakes slightly even with my new bike when I put the wheel back on?

I had thought I would be less prone to this with fixed bolts but iIt's getting quite annoying now as the nights are drawing in.

  • It's a common problem... you can keep the pads slightly more open, but that affects your braking, especially if you have road type brake levers... so realistically there is no solution...

  • They are hydraulics which usually means I have to adjust the caliper itself.
