Did they recommend the best bike bag/box to use in case of a crash ?

Was 7A the one found 120 metres from the plane?

Also, another fantastic advert for Italian engineering .. the 'Ferrari of the sky' that broke down! Just like their cars and motorbikes then. That rep is exactly why i'll never buy an Italian bike, even though they're probably fine!

No probs. I don't think it'll ruin it for you to tell you that they don't crash it till what seemed like 45m - 1hr into the program.

  • Was kind of compulsive after a while - didn't learn anything new though (I did the BA flight safety course in May this year :D )
All the gear, but no idea...
  • Sit at the back, a plane has never reversed into a mountain yet.

Is it true all military aircraft have the seats facing the back, as this is much safer?

Must be safest at the back - that's where they put the Flight Data Recorders (Black Boxes).

That's further back than the cabin though, presumably near to where the tail joins the fuselage, a structurally strong area. The rear cabin is usually where the plane will split in the event of a tail landing. I think the strongest part of the cabin is over the wings, for obvious reasons. I'd thought, assuming you survive the G forces, that you have the best chance of being inside the plane after a crash if you're in the middle.

Over the wings is a place you wouldn't want to be if fire broke out though :D

But if you land on water the wings are best. Burn, break or drown: decisions, decisions. The legroom clinches it for me, I alway go for the wing emergency exit seat.

Nope, but not many crashes go noes first into the ground remember. Hardly any in fact. There is nowhere safer than anywhere else on an aircraft, because you don't know how it's going to crash you can't pre-empt where is best to sit.
