Hi guys

Just saying my mate had the UK 1 50 000 OS maps on SD card, and, just saying, I copied the file off of his Garmin and put it on a new SD card, would it work?

Just saying...

Probably not as they normally need to be unlocked with the Garmin supplied Unlock code. Of course if you ........
  • Don't think so there is a serial embedded into the SD card IIRC.

    However....

I have the genuine maps, but these look identical.
  • just use the free OpenMaps instead - for most of the country on a road, you'll hardly notice the difference.

  • The ones I posted are openstreetmap, the UK site for them. :)

  • Check them out, I'm pretty sure they are the same. Full OS.

I'm interested in this too. Having just looked at the openstreetmap website, they describe the OS style maps as 'look and feel', so these cannot be the original variants, surely? Has anyone seen the quality of these openstreetmap OS style maps?

Needs more research before splashing out on the Edge me thinks.
