One year on

It was one year ago today that I bought a bike. Not very special, but the first one I've had for about 35 years.
It was bought off the Ebay, and when I got it I was having problems with the bottom bracket (known about before the sale) and I came to these forums looking for advice on how to fix it. I found that there was a nice crowd on here and so I stayed
I'd been using a spin bike for a couple of months before my bike, so I wasn't completely green, but the first real hills I went up took their toll; I had to stop at the tops feeling like I was going to have a stroke. It's got easier, at least I no longer have to stop, and I'm not looking for yet another gear. I can't manage the sort of distances that most of you regard as a warm-up, but I'm making progress.
It's been good.

The older I get, the better I was.

Brilliant.
Its amazing how quick the bug bites, within 3 months I was doing my first gentle sportive and within a year I was being slaughtered on hills round pendle - just so eager for a challenge.
Bikes also make you an expert on weather watching
Do you often find yourself gazing out of the window thinking - great day for a ride - but oh look att those clouds - i'll just wait a wee while - yes all clear - im off.The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0
