Hi

Please could someone let me know if this bike is a good specification, sorry I am really new to road bikes and I am looking for one to ride on with friends.

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/jam ... 1#features

I have been offered this for £850 and because I don't really know anything about them I thought I'd ask on here. It's been barely used and comes with 2 spare tyres, spd clips and a small bike bag for behind the seat. The person is selling it due to shoulder injury

Many thanks

Sounds like a very good deal to me. Make sure it's not been crashed or anything as it can damage the carbon (even if the damage isn't visible).

Spec is good for £850! You're looking at a new aluminium bike with that kind of spec at that price.

I have no idea what's going on here.
  • Brilliant thanks very much

Is there anyway of checking for damaged carbon parts ??

Short of taking it to a dealer for an inspection just have a good check over it and look for crash damage, chipped/creased paintwork etc. Give it a ride as well and listen for any strange noises.

It's a risk really but not a massive one if you give it a good look over (and if it does really worry you take it to a dealer to check it before you buy it).
  • Thanks very much for replying

I will make sure I give it a good look over, would any bike shop look at it do you think ?

    Thanks agian

As said above take it to a dealer or just look for chips/scratches etc. If it does have some visual damage, either don't buy it or take it to an approved carbon scanner who'll check for any damage using x-rays and stuff.

They're not a well-known brand like Giant or Pinarello, but I haven't heard anything bad about them.

I will have a good look over it, I have seen it and rode it. I didn't give it a thorough inspection, but it rode ok and the guy seemed very genuine. But I suppose he wants to sell it so he would be.
