I want a cape.

Right, thing is as a sweaty man I get too hot riding in coats. Regardless of how cycling specific they are and how cold it is I just sweat, take it off and regret bringing it. For that reason I just wear a thermal base layer under my normal t-shirt in the winter. I don't carry more than I need so I never carry a coat either.
Then I got to thinking and I want a cape. It would be perfect. I'd look awesome riding with a cape billowing behind me. I'd still be as ventilated as I would be in just my usual t-shirt then when I stop to fix a puncture of something in the rain the cape will drape handsomely across my shoulders keeping me warm and dry until I speed off once again.
The cape would have to fasten across my shoulders so it's not just flapping round my neck, maybe somewhere at the front like the top of my pecs. This would also assist with awesome billowiness. Also I don't want to fasten it round my neck in case it gets caught on anything. Would probably have to fasten to my t-shirt somehow, might have to re-prupose some clickfast jobbies. The material would have to be a decent weight and preferably waterproof. Don't want some flimsy nylon thing, that would just look stupid. Getting the length right will be important as well, I don't want it getting caught up in the back wheel when I'm slower than a tail wind.
Anyone know where I can get such a thing? I would ask Batmat but I lost his number when I got a new phone.

You'll need a wire frame to hold it like that with your riding!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I'm guessing you've never actually worn a cape? I have, and as awesome as it was, I think you'd be surprised how heavy they are, and how warm they are (as that's the point of them).
You'll be moaning about that as well if you had one.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Wot - not even when he's being taken up the batcave by Robin. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -

the guy in that pic did, but he hasn't even got a mouth, how did he talk to customers?0 -
if you could get one with velcro you could have it round your neck so if it does get caught it would just come off. where your gunna get a velcro cape is another question0

Plans are afoot to make one. I'm thinking poppers would be better as the contact patch can be smaller. I know a curtain maker with the skills and equipment to professionally sew it for me. She also knows Danny hart and Scott mears for celebrity endorsement of my new bike cape. Scott has a bike shop as well so I've got a potential outlet when it takes off (pun intended ).0
