Working fine for me. I even left and came back to it and it's fine.
I'm trying to figure out what will happen if the balloon just pops. Wonder if he'd get out on time.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

F**k it cba, will watch it later on news or whatever, what a f**king let down0

Apparently the BBC are doing a huge documentary on it, and have been doing for the last 5 years, and it's due to be shown in about a month, so watch that instead!
Though apparently he doesn't have any heat in his helmet, which could be an issue...It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

over 3 million streaming it may be the issue?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Not had any issues streaming it here either, other than it being ever so slightly boring.0

Working OK here - but at this rate it's be at least another half an hour before he gets up to the height he wants to be at. Time to do something else for a bit..."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

Wonder what the issue with his visor heat is.0

The BBC one doesn't seem to have any commentary. (Whether that's a bad thing or not is up for debate...).0

and lots of buffering again."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Which is 833.9mph for those that the previous post made no sense of.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

The word gets overused a lot these days (including by me) but that was PROPERLY awesome!
Although.................
Endomondo often tells me I've gone faster than that on my daily commute.0 -
My minion just asked me what do I think he heard as he broke the soundbarrier, which made me think.
I recon he wouldn't have heard much differently, because he was in a pressurised suit, and was effectively in a cabin, he would have heard things as normal, maybe a rushing sound though. So many people were worried he might pass out etc. but considering he had oxygen and was in the right pressure conditions, I don't understand the concern really.
Would love to give that a go though! It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

what height above the earth was he when he was doing 800+ mph?thekickingmules wrote:I recon he wouldn't have heard much differently
the awesome thing about travelling faster than speed of sound is that you can't hear *anything*

Yes, but his head was inside a pressurised suit. Travelling at the speed of sound in a plane, you can still hear fine. How is that different to having your head in a helmet (fnar)?
EDIT: I'm not saying I'm right, I'm genuinely interested. It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

he could hear anything inside just as before - so if he started talking via the radio link, no problems with that
but there would be no wind noise from outside0 -

Must have been brown pants time when he started spinning doing 600mph+"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0
