Not got thousands to spend on a MTB these days so this will have to do for now. It may be a bit dated but it does the trick!

I think it looks pretty good to be honest.
As long as it covers the terrain you want it to and does not fall apart after every ride then it does not have to cost thousands or be the newest piece of kit.0 -

Are you sure your back brake is working correctly? ONly looks like half the pads are aligned to the rotor.0

Maybe the bracket is upside down?0
-
Yeah its been fixed now rear break has actually been replaced since that picture. And yes since its all I can afford at the moment I have spent many hours looking after it0

Nice bike, good to see another Gt idrive on the site. I've been doing a Gt idrive 6 up over the last 12 months or so.0
-
I always have liked these, I tried finding one before I got my b'twin but they were all still going for crazy good money unless you get one with a naff shock and in a super huge size0
-
Yeah I was lucky to get a medium (which feels larger than I expected and suits my 6ft frame) and one with a Fox float too. I just bought the frame and then moved all the bits over from my Gary Fisher which was on its last legs0

It looks a good setup. I've had nice expensive bikes in the past, but it's kinda refreshing doing everything to a budget now, I am enjoying my bike more!
Out of interest, why run your stem upside down? Doesn't it feel really awkward riding anything technical with your bars so low?0 -
I tried it both ways. The Tora's are 140mm so front end is already pretty high so it doesn't feel like a low riding position. I suppose its just down personal preference.
I was thinking of getting a shorter stem which might bring bars into a more comfortable position. But first she needs some new tires. One thing at a time0 -

As a gt fanboi that looks a nice bike, so what if it's a couple of years old, I bet it's still fun to blast around on0

One of the chaps in my club has one, he usually comes out on a Cube HT, but occasionally wheels that out (mostly XC locally so it's a bit overbiked!)Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

How come halfords don't do gt bikes no more they were seemed good bikes look how nice yours is halfords loss i gue :P ss0
-
You can still get them from Evans and if you ask me they have better aftersales than Halfords so like you say its their loss0

Kit acquired - WTB saddle, new Post, Race Face stem and Handlebars, new peddles, newer deore derailleur, lighter wheels (Alexrims), Tekro disc calipers and levers. All the Kit is lighter and newer than what is already on bike so looking forward to riding it! Will have to wait for some better weather though to stick it all on :-(0

I'm told it was GT's decision to pull them from Halfords - that was what Halfords staff were told at my daughters store.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Took a little trip out to Sherwood Pines - bit of a basic trail but no punishing hils so my knees are grateful for that. Still good fun though - if a little muddy in places!
