Hello,

Needing some help.

Picked up a Focus Raven hardtail needing some work.

It has tapered head tube with integrated headset.

Now i'm a little confused. I've taken out the headset and what i believe to be the race crown. However the crown race is nearly 2 inches in diameter. I'm pretty confident that the top part is 1 1/8 and so this is straight forward.
Images in like so top and bottom - bottom being larger.

The shocks are not tapered - straight.

CAn anyone help me with telling me what the right part is to buy?

Thanks Bill.

integrated or semi-integrated - what are the internal diameters (top & bottom) of the headtube (frame)?
  • Integrated and tapered. Top is 1 1/8 inches and the bottom 1.5inches (but the casing is 2inches!??) I've got about 80mm on the bottom integration.

Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • 2 inches on the bottom but there is a rim in the tube and this measure 1.8inches (there or there abouts).

    I've sorted the top part.

nope the ID of the hole. the OD of the tube means little.

and try reading the headset standards on Parktools.

    Does the headset have cups?
"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
