Road bike for triathlons

I know triathlon specific bikes have a steeper seat tube angle which pushes the rider forwards. They also have a slightly lower front to airodynamics.
Would putting the seat as far foward as possible and fitting a slightly loner stem on a road bike have a similar effect.

Get yourself a pair of clip-on aerobars and work on your position first. When you can get down into a low aero tuck and your knees are nearly hitting your chest is the time to start worrying about a different frame. The number of lo-pro frames you see running riser stems and 2 inches of spacers make it kinda pointless.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

This article is quite helpful as it breaks down where the time savings are. As mentioned above it seems aerobars offer the best value.0 -
Very interesting and good ways of cycling more efficiently. However, one of the reasons triathlon bikes place the rider further forwards is to use different leg muscles, so saving the quods for running. Would moving the seat forward and fitting clip on airobars achieve this.Planet X Kaffenback 2
