Energy Drink Powder holder?

Is there such a thing as an Energy Drink Powder holder? I buy my Energy Drink Powder in the big tubs, and like to bag up either 500 or 750mls worth into bags, so I can add these mid ride. Bags don't work very well so hence the question - is there such a thing as an Energy Drink Powder holder, a 750 capacity softish plastic, lightweight, leakproof container for the powder? Oh, and one that makes it easy to get the powder into the bottle? And, no I won't pay the extra for the sachets, as anyway these don't differentiate between 500 and 750.
The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.

You can buy the protein shaker types containers that have a screw on bottom for your powder.

I'll certainly check out the 35mm. canister as regards capacity, as I have a couple handy, but I can't see one holding 3 scoops of powder. Perhaps I should add here that it has to fit in a jersey pocket. Seems there isn't a purpose made product. Perhaps the chemist has empty pots, but shame there isn't one on the market. The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.0

I must be missing something here. Surely you mix the drink at home into your drinks bottle before you go out??Yellow is the new Black.0

Go to a £1 shop or similar and buy a travel bottle kit there will be several containers in the 100ml capacity, just over a scoop I think. I do the same thing. For those wondering why.. There are often water stops on long enduro rides, so all you need to carry is the powder. Perfect for 8Hr+ rides.0

Just buy the energy tablets wrap them in cling-film place in pocket jersey, job done less hassle!!!0

If I need to refill my two bottles (100+ milers) then I just bring along the sachets of powder. I have a tub for the initial filling and have a box of individuals to bring with on long rides.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

Yes, smidsy, I do mix the drink at home into my 2x500/750 bottles before I go out, I also take the powders to make 2x500/750 to get me home.
No, Grill, I don't want to take along the sachets of powder, because, As I've said, no I won't pay the extra for the sachets, as anyway these don't differentiate between 500 and 750.
And to "diy", thank you. I'll look out for the travel bottle kit. Great minds, think....Fancy a ride sometime. The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.0 -
I mix my own too from big sacks of maltodextrin, BCAA etc from Myprotein as sachets are so much more expensive. You can buy little tubs in supermarkets, I bought 3 small tubs for less than a quid from Asda the other week. They're usually in the kitchen section with the plastic tubs for storing stuff in.... They're not as compact as sachets but it's so much cheaper to mix yourself...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Try the powder tubs from tommytippe??? The ones for powdered baby milk... not too expanseive and in packs of 3 I think0

Probably too big for a back pocket, but what I do is to make two 750 mL bottles up for the first 50 miles (powder and OJ/water in the ratio 1:2), and then mix powder and OJ in a 500 mL Coke bottle for the rest of the ride (250 mL for each 750 mL bottle, to be topped up with 500 mL water).
That would get me to 100 miles. If I were riding a '200' (km audax) I'd probably make the four 750 mL bottles last but also drink a 500 mL Coke and/or tea or coffee at a cafe halfway round.0 -
i use these then bin them guy sells them for nothing and there is loads of sizes.

Thanks mallorcajeff. I've also ordered a set.
Next I'll check out the pound shop that "diy" suggested.
and Headhunter's supermarket small tubs.
Yes, ColinJ pockets already full.
But it does show there is no purpose-made product out there. The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.0 -
they work for me make sure you buy a big enough size for how much you use. I buy small ones it was about 3 quid for 1000 or something stupid. Just dont do what i did last year. Pack 20 bags and put it your bike bag when you fly to mallorca, customs were "oh so not impressed" I didnt give it a thought !0
