Entry Level Trainer Advice

Hi there,
With the winter months incoming it is impossible to get out in the evenings during the week so its time to get a trainer. I am planning to start my first racing season next year so will be putting in alot of miles. So I was wondering does anyone have any experience with the entry level cycleops or elite trainers? My budget in less than 200 and noise would be a main decision factor along with realistic resistance. I know I cant expect much for this price range but just want to get the best I can. Also are trainer tires necessary or will any old scrap tire do?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers,

I'd definitely suggest this one....have had it about a year and it's ideal.

Theres a load of reviews on the bike radar site here about trainers, worth spending 20 mins reading thru:
