1990 chorus bottom bracket size
Hi, I am rebuilding up my late eighties old faithful, using mostly chorus components. the chorus chainset is from 1990 but I can't work out what size bottom bracket length I need. I would say its around 107-111 but wonder if anyone knows for sure.
Also, I have a pair of c record delta brake calipers but I can't get them to fit. Even when lowered to their lowest point the brake blocks are just touching the tyre rather than completely on the rim. Any ideas on how I can add something to lower them further. I think the problem is the frame is a 64 cm and the clearance is bigger, either that or it just a French thing (pug frame)
Many thanks

Looks like your frame was designed for different size wheels... Considering the delta are worth more than the frame , maybe best to source a suitable frame.
A word of advice re. The delta. Use modern pads, the original ones were terribleleft the forum March 20230 -
Nope, the frame is built for 700c, no problem with any other brakes. I'm not keen on replacing the frame as the main point was to restore it rather than go out and buy a new one. It's a 1988 Peugeot aravis with 531pro tubing, lovely ride still and my first proper road bike so has lots of sentimental value. I get your point about the pads, any recommendation on a modern set that fit?0

Not easy, you need to check the size of the bolt, as my old super record won't take modern campagnolo pads or Shimano ones... if yours do, then get some modern pads... any decent one... the problem was with the original ones. If you fit good pads, they are actually very decent brakes...
Not sure why they don't fit your bike... they certainly were designed for frames of that era... maybe yours was a touring frame designed to take mudguards and long drop calipers?left the forum March 20230 -
It's a road race geometry and it takes short reach brakes so I can't work out why they don't fit. I love the brakes, if set up right they work just fine, think ill give it another go, there has to be a way of getting these to fit0
