New Bike dilemma

Not the usual one, bought a cracking bike in sale last week.
Dilemma is whether to take it out and get it totally sh1t up, my old bike on thurs looked like it had done 3p cyclocross after 30 miles round the lanes.
I know I can clean it, however, I am worried I might not enjoy the ride if the crap gets picked up and starts rubbing
It's a nightmare keeping looking at it and not using it, I am running out of time before the frosts come and the salt goes down.
Thoughts?

Bikes are made to be ridden! Unless they are in a museum. :P0

Why did you buy it?
Personally, I can't do with all this keeping my bike looking like new! Had mine since April & washed it possibly 3 times! It's all shitted up now under the frame & behind the seat tube etc but I'll be out on it in the morning. Personally, I like to enjoy & get my moneys worth out of anything I buy so I'm not at all concerned whether my bike gets scratched, stone chipped, wet, dirty or anything else!! Basic, routine maintenance is all I concern myself with & other than that I just want to peddle the thing!
I also can not for the life in me understand why anyone would go back to a "worse"? bike just because of the weather? :?B'TWIN Triban 5A

Crud Racer mudguards make a huge difference. Mostly you just end up with a bit of muck on the chainstays and around the brakes.
My bike is used 6 days a week and almost always looks brand new! All it takes is an occasional go over with something like Auto Glym Super Resin Polish (which helps stop grime sticking to the frame) and a quick five minute dust off after each mucky ride and it's sparkly clean again.
The main thing is not to let the dirt build up - then it's much harder to clean.Faster than a tent.......0 -

On second thoughts, ignor me! :? I live on a working farm & so it's impossible to keep anything clean that goes on a road! I'm just used to it, maybe I might think differently if this wasn't the case.B'TWIN Triban 5A
