So what do you think?

It's got that classic, sexy Bond vibe to it, and Adele was a great choice of singer, but I do think it lacks that certain something. I also wish she would tone down the pub-singer style pitch scoops a bit too. Perhaps it's a grower. Can't wait for the movie!

Heard it on the radio this morning - my first thought was that someone took three existing bond songs and blended them using autotune. Hell of a lot better than that White Stripes effort a while ago though.

....and as you say....not the biggest fan of the current Bond incarnation compared to some of the previous ones, but am looking forward to the movie being released.

...but then what do I know? George Lazenby was my favourite.

Adele can sing, but I think this song is too high for her. Not a great song.

Lazenby was a very good and highly underrated Bond.

    what he said!

But yeah this one lacks any je nais se quoi, which is a pity because when I heard she was going to sing it I was really looking forward to it.

    Ditto.

I enjoyed his portrayal of Bond, but he did have Diana Rigg to help him out on that respect.

Not so keen on the new song, lacks the raw emotion you associate with Adele when she's annoyed with someone, sounds more like Adele doing a Shirley Bassey number at a karaoke night. Maybe she wanted a few quid in the bank to tide her over with her baby on the way.

I had to watch Quantum of Solace three times before I actually got it, when I did I realised that it isn't actually a bad film, it's just left field for the Bond franchise.

Casino Royale is still however my favourite Bond film of them all (and I have them all on DVD!)

As for the new theme song....mmmm maybe it'll grow on me, I will just have to wait and see.

Watched the trailer this morning on IMdB - there are sooooo many action scenes, including a fight on top of a train which is always a winner

    When is the release date?

Inital release on the 22nd October.

Myself and my friend have already pre booked to see it, he's being dragged unwilling along to the cinema

Lazenby had loads of potential as Bond, but they made him far too camp at times.

The Skyfall theme is really starting to get on my nerves with its incredibly catchy not-very-goodness.

Main problem with most Bond films is the scripts - they are usually terrible unless they follow the books reasonably accurately - eg why Casino Royale was good and Quantum of Solace terrible.

They should get Sebastian Faulks to do them - at least he's managed to write one reasonably decent Bond story already. A film based on Devil May Care would have been better than Quantum of Solace.

I'd watch that - prob. also one by Mr Horowitz, too.
I'm sure I heard that the reason that QoS was so p1ss-poor was due in part to the writers' strike & that even Daniel Craig had a hand in the re-writes...
