I have an extremely annoying creak on my orange patriot. Its a wierd creak though as you can not hear it so much when cycling, just when moving the bike when its stationairy. I mean if you rock the bike from one side to the other ever so slightly then the creak comes. Even hardly turning the pedals makes it creak. I'm at a loss as it doesnt seem to be coming from anywhere in specific. I'm just praying its not the frame itself.
Should i take it to the LBS they might be my saviours.

I'm pretty sure it won't make any difference, but both the brakes squeak, although it is a completely different squeak from the creak. I'm going to sand them down and clean them tonight.0

what do you mean by side to side?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

like if im just holding the bike upright, rocking it from left to right. the bike isnt rolling forward or backwards, just stationairy0 -
I'd start by unbolting the calipers and seeing if you can recreate the noise.0

Surely if it happens when you rock it from left to right when stationary you can narrow it down. There can't be much that moves. Seat post bag, seat as I assume you hold this when you rock it, hubs? If the handle bars don't move when you rock it its unlikely to be them.0
