Not sure what category this fits under, as it's pretty niche!

Firstly, if anyone knows anyone who's suffered coccyx/nerve damage from cycling, I'd love to hear from them, to trade stories.

About a year ago, whilst recovering from an AC shoulder dislocation operation, I sat on my spin bike to try to keep the fitness levels up as much as possible. I was still in a sling so could only grip the bars with one hand. To cut a long story cut, I've somehow sat on the saddle wrong. After a few rides I start getting pain getting off the bike. From there, it's become a chronic nerve damage (I think) injury, resulting in my not being able to cycle. Readers beware, this was *so* easy to cause.

I'm no nearer a physical fix nearly 12 months down the line. I've had numerous cortisone injections including directly into the nerves in the bum area. Not exactly pleasant I can assure you!

So I'm now facing the possibility of not being able to ride again, which feels me with fear and despair. So, just in case (all hope not lost entirely yet), I've started to look into alternatives. I've come across various 'stepper bikes' and was hoping that someone might have some experience with these and maybe even own one?

The ones I've looked at are:

3G Stepper Bike : http://www.3gstepperbike.co.uk/
Streetstepper Sport: http://www.streetstepper.com/en
The crazy Run Bike: http://en.runbiking.eu/Runbike/What-is-runbike , and,
http://www.elliptigo.co.uk/

These vary in price from about £600-£3000+
My favourite is the Streetstepper Sport, which is a brilliant piece of German engineering. Check out the new MTS 26 which is simply crazy. Not out until next Spring though and will cost around £3000.

I'd love to hear from others facing a similar predicament or those with experience with these or other machines.

Any takers?
