Ok I am after a little bit of advice from you guys...

I am about to put my Bianchi Infinito frameset up for sale, it is a size 59 and will come with Ritchey Superlogic One Bolt Carbon Seatpost and the original FSA Stem and Bars, also I have two brand new Michelin Pro 3 Celeste tyres I will throw in as well. It is excellent condition as I clean it after every ride, it has never been dropped or dinged at all so as near new condition.

The 2012 frameset retails at around £1,850 new with no seatpost, stem, bars etc, I was thinking of asking around the £1,000 mark for it, do you think that is about right ???

Below is as the bike looks now as the pics were taken the other week.

For just the frame with no groupset or wheels. I am no expert but that seems a little optimistic. A Veloce specced bike is about £2k new. So a buyer would be weighing up the cost of equipping the bike vs the cost of a new one that will come with warranty etc.

    Centaur Groupset = £500-£600
Wheels - Minimum Fulcrum 5's £200 but probably want better

Might be ok for someone doing a frame upgrade who is swapping the other components but my gut feeling is that £1000 might be a little strong.

When I buy anything second-hand I work on paying a max of 40-50% of the purchase price, not the RRP.

Lovely bike I fancy the disc version in grey .... Good choice
  • What are you riding now, still got the Infinito ?

How much do you think the frameset and kit would be worth ?

Still riding the Infinito and scott but added a Caadx for cx and winter .
My gut feeling is a smidge under £1k and I would want more than that if I were selling mine .
I looked at a number of frames lately ie Look etc and the price of a complete bike is almost as much as the frame set in some cases . If someone is looking for that frame ... And they are lovely to ride to be fair you might get lucky I guess .

On a seperate note your welcome to come out with the Monmouthshire Wheelers anytime we have members near you .
  • Thanks for the offer, what day do you usually go and what type of miles ?

Generally a club run is around 50 to 60 miles and the routes vary from hilly underlating . Google us and you should get our blog or Facebook if your that way inclined . Web site is under development as we speak and we are upto around 20 members at present .

I would be amazed if you got £1000 for it even though the Bianchi is a sought after brand. 1k is a lot of money to pay for a secondhand frame irrespective of condition due to the lack of warranty.

It would sell at £750+ IMO

I nearly offered you a grand thinking it was the complete bike - now that would have been a bargain!

    Hi Ian.
Sorry to jump on an old topic, but I can't send you a pm!
I remember that you had the Infinito frameset up for sale way back in November ... did it get sold in the end?
    Cheers, Rich

You can buy a brand new 2012 Infinito frameset here http://www.bianchibikes.co.uk/store/Bianchi-Infinito/bianchi_infinito_sale for £1299, or a full Veloce/105 bike for not a great deal more.
