A bit more information would help -
- What sort of riding do you do?
- What's your weight?
- Are you looking for some blingtastic carbon dream wheel to go with the Look or a wheel purely based on what is most fit for purpose?
You'll be looking at very different wheels if you're 150lbs and racing crits compared to 180lbs and riding audax.
I suspect the best answer is some solidly built £300-500 handbuilts based around decent hubs, sapim lazers and a rim/spoke count based on your weight.0 -
170 lbs, 6'3 only ride for fitness and pleasure up to 100miles, not interested in sportifs, racing etc at least at the moment or in the medium term, but not knowing anything about wheels and tires, wondered if those that came with the bike were low, mid, high spec, and if its worth updgrading them if they are low spec (i.e. if the ones i have are notirously poor, or have any weakpoints or suspceptible to breaking, being heavy, punturing easilt etc), as i am completely ignorant on the subject.
probably wouldnt want to spend 500 boys on wheels though, at least for that frame i have. 350 defo if i could get significant/noticeably benefits from changing, with perhaps one eye on doing sportifs, but as i say i have absolutely no idea if mine are any good.
my sole thinking, is would new wheels/tires make it noticeably faster/lighter/more reliable/robust, that is if mine are not considered any of those things.0 -
For what you do they're fine. Just use them until they wear out.More problems but still living....0

If you aren't racing, or are only doing that type of riding, why spend more money when you don't need to?
Try improving your fitness instead of throwing money into things that might save you a few seconds.
But just search around for the hundreds of topics already posted, and simply look at their reviews, or the grams and you'll see weight differences.
Boyd has great reviews all around; you could look at chinese carbons too; I'm probably picking some of those up for my next upgrade.0
