Just in the process of planning a training bike build for late winter and taking away next year with me, hoping to be able to utilise as many parts I can from exisiting build and spares, one I'm not sure about st this stage is the forks.

I'm currently using a ridgeback solo s/s as a hack for work, its got a set of carbon forks on it. For the sake of saving myself an extra £100 on the frameset price wondering if its worth whipping these off and just using these. Providing steerers long enough obviously

Is any one using anything other than the Dolan supplied forkon there build?

Depends on the length of the fork. The Preffisio is designed to take a 'standard' length (axle to crown) fork. That is to say it takes brakes with a 39-49mm drop. The A-C length on many winter forks is longer, using 47-57mm drop brakes to allow for more tyre clearance with mudguards. The Dolan can only take 23mm tyres with 'guards fitted.

Putting longer forks on the bike will raise the front end and slacken the head and seat angles. You may not notice the difference it makes, but it isn't what the bike was designed around.

    Hope that helps.
