edited October 2012 in Your road bikes
Thought i would share my bike that i commute to work 3 times a week! I'm sort of a newbie in the fact twenty years ago i was sort of a down hill champ....in my area! Now a bit fatter and very rusty in the world of biking i thought i'd share my love in life (apart from my gorgeous wife if your reading this)
Bought this beautiful 2012 Wilier XP from Live to Ride in Frome and have to say its a fantastic bike that just soaks up the road. A complete pleasure to ride. It comes with Veloce chainset, FSA crank, FSA the rest. I'm in the process of upgrading these parts to either Ultegra or FSA but not sure what yet? The biggest and best upgrade are the Mavic Cosmics, WOW! They are awesome and SOUND awesome. Probably the safest addition is the Exposure Maxx D. I feel very safe with this light plonked on the front of the Wilier. Its like a car headlight! Anyway any comments on how to 'Upgrade' will be very welcome.
Wilier cento uno.

That is absolutely beautiful. I love the colour. A quick google finds nothing available in that colour - Is it a special edition?

It's red, it's just his camera white balance is wrong.

Nice bike by the way OP

are they instagram photos? I wouldn't upgrade anything else TBH there is nothing that would deliver a big difference now that you have quality wheels

    is nice

Can't see the pictures (other than the top pink one) for some reason.

I also have an Ixoard XP and I'm also going to upgrade the wheels at some point. What Mavic Cosmics do you have - carbon? Doubt my budget will stretch beyond £400 so interested to know what you've gone for.

    Sorry for the 'Pink' Wilier!
I 'istagramed' it which most times looks great. Not on this occasion.I'm an arty type but this back fired. I do like pink shirts but i'm not that way inclined!!!
Especially having two children to my gorgeous wife.....
Anyway i've re uploaded the Wilier in its raw state......

They are Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL's £500 second hand.
There technically not carbon but have a thin layer of carbon on the aluminium.
To be honest i dont care, they look awesome to me. I rode to work this morning and WOW! They made a difference to the ride. I actually felt i was going faster with them. And the SOUND!
    Best upgrade i've done.....so far.
